Bram Platel


Bram Platel is a part-time senior researcher of the Diagnostic Image Analysis Group at the Radiology department of the Radboudumc, Nijmegen as well as the Clinical Neuroscience section of the Anatomy & Neurosciences department of the VUmc, Amsterdam. In 2002 Bram graduated as a biomedical engineer at the University of Technology in Eindhoven, and in 2007 he obtained a Ph.D. degree at the Biomedical Image Analysis group of the TU/e. As an assistant professor, Bram led the Image Guided Surgery group at the Maastricht University Medical Centre from 2007 until June 2010. There he worked on image analysis for neurosurgical procedures such as tumor resection, deep brain stimulation, and spinal surgery. From July 2010 until October 2012 Bram worked for Fraunhofer MEVIS, as a senior researcher on computer-aided diagnosis and detection problems. From 2010 onward Bram has been working at Clinical Neuroscience of the VUmc. Bram's research focusses on image analysis for neurological disorders.
