Laura Deden is a PhD candidate at the bariatric surgery research group in the Rijnstate hospital and at the beta cell imaging research group of Martin Gotthardt of the Radboud university medical center. She is working on the project entitled: 'Beta cell imaging in bariatric patients'. This project is a collaboration between the Radboud university medical center and the bariatric surgery in the Rijnstate hospital. In 2007 she has started her study Technical Medicine at the University of Twente. In 2014 she obtained her Master’s degree (Cum Laude). Her graduation project titled 'Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy in rectum cancer' conducted over the course of one year in the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital surgery department.
