Tom Jansen studied Technical Medicine at the University of Twente. His master internships including the fourth internship of the second year, as well as the final internship of the third year were performed at the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. After graduating in August 2016, he started his PhD in October 2016 at the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine under supervision of Martin Gotthardt, Maarten Brom and Mijke Buitinga. The project aims to further investigate type 1 diabetes, performing several clinical studies using GLP-1R imaging. This in collaboration with Cees Tack and Bastiaan de Galan from the Department of Internal Medicine. Furthermore, this PhD project will also aim to improve research on type 1 diabetes, establishing collaborations within Europe through the international consortium INNODIA.
